Mr. Martin Guard is the Artumas Environmental Manager for Tanzania operations. Martin has an M.Sc in Conservation with a Ph.D in Zoology, and over 12 years of environmental protection experience in Tanzania alone. His responsibilities include the development and implementation of the environmental management system, and environmental monitoring and reporting for Artumas Group. Martin is a master scuba diver and open water instructor which furthers his very personal interest in protecting the beautiful waters of the marine park of Mnazi Bay.
During the seismic program, several experienced Community Liaison Officers were on site at all times to ensure that the program was carried out in an environmentally friendly manner and that all land owners and indigenous people were cared for.
