Recognized for its high marine biodiversity at both a national and international level, the Mnazi Bay-Rovuma Estuary Marine Park was gazetted in 2000 and was recently further identified by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as a globally important Marine Eco-Region. To develop a natural gas field in such an important and sensitive area is a demanding challenge.
